What is Craft For Care? // ¿Qué es Crear con Cariño?
At GROW Lincoln Heights, we believe community care means showing up for the people who feed, sustain, and shape our neighborhoods. Lincoln Heights and East LA food vendors are beloved entrepreneurs whose labor anchors our local culture and economy, yet many are now struggling to work, earn, and care for their families amid ICE raids and enforcement.
Craft for Care is a community-led mutual aid project that brings artists, makers, and neighbors together to directly support these vendors. Through our efforts to raise financial support for local food vendors, we are launching bi monthly Collection Series. During our Collection Series, you can make a donation and as an effort of gratitude, GROW will send the most gracious donor the artwork of their selection.
Collection Series artworks are bodies of work local artists produce for this cause in collaboration. 100% of proceeds are granted to food vendors impacted by ICE raids.
Auctions are planned for the end of July, September, and November. Every donated artwork and every donation becomes an act of solidarity—helping protect local families, sustain small businesses, and keep community care in community hands.
